Music Lesson Policies & Procedures
(UPDATED- Effective September 1, 2017)
It is our goal to provide the best possible experience at Kelly’s Music Corner. To that end, we ask that you please read and adhere to the policies listed below.
It takes time and consistent practice to learn an instrument, hone musical skills, etc. Consistent lesson attendance and practice in between weekly lessons are crucial to musical success!
If you are late for a lesson, you will receive instruction up to your scheduled time. If the instructor is running late, you will receive your full scheduled time. There will be no make-ups or reimbursements for tardiness.
If an instructor needs to reschedule a lesson, you will be notified by the instructor, and a new time will be arranged. If a student needs to reschedule a lesson, we ask for at least 24 hours notice. The student (parent/guardian) is responsible for contacting her/his instructor, and a make-up lesson may be arranged. If a student is a no show (no phone call/email/text) for her/his lesson, there will be no reimbursement or make-up lesson arranged. If rescheduling becomes a consistent occurrence, we reserve the right not to extend the courtesy of rescheduling.
Each family is responsible for providing lesson books. Individual teachers will advise on what materials are necessary and how to obtain them.
KMC follows the Middletown City Schools when it comes to weather conditions, but we do not always close when the schools close. It is the family’s responsibility to check the KMC website (www.kmwithkelly.com) and/or Facebook page (www.facebook.com/kmwithkelly) for information on delays and closings.
Tuition is $150 per month (for 30 minute lessons) and $170 per month (for 45 minute lessons) regardless of a 4 or 5 week month and is due by the last lesson of the previous month (For example, September lessons must be paid by the student’s final lesson in August). A late fee of $15.00 will be added if payment is not received by the first lesson of the current month. There will be no prorating. No exceptions.
Payments may be made by cash, check or credit card (there is a $40.00 returned check fee). Failure to make payments on time and/or failure to pay late fees or returned check fees may result in a student not being allowed to continue lessons. Families wishing to pay by credit card must complete an automatic withdrawal form to be kept on file. The card will automatically be charged on the last day of the month for the upcoming month’s lessons. Credit cards will not be accepted in any other way.
Payments by cash and check should be placed in the locked payment box located on the front wall in the waiting area. Please utilize the payment envelopes provided next to the payment box, completing all requested information on the envelope. Thank you!
